Buying Prints, Canvas & Posters FAQs:
- Why do you use Fine Art America?
- How Limited are the editions?
- Do you use NZ based suppliers?
- I’m a Kiwi so can I buy from you in New Zealand?
- Will my art have the Motography logo on it?
Will you travel further afield?
Yes – I do cover most of NZ but this incurs additional cost which I can quote separately. Just ask.
Can I invite mates or family along to watch?
You are allowed a maximum of one ‘Roadie’ to accompany you on the shoot – this person should also be your ‘tracking’ shot driver. Less people = less distraction = more focused photographer = better quality photos!
What is a tracking shot?
A tracking shot is where your car is photographed from another moving vehicle, normally up front. This requires an additional driver mate/family aged 25 or over with full current NZ Driving License to drive the photographers car for a short distance.
What happens if the weather’s turned bad?
Photo shoots will usually proceed through wet/bad weather unless deemed too dangerous by the photographer. In extreme cases a shoot will be re-scheduled to the nearest mutually convenient date.
Do you use rigs?
No. I don’t like attaching and hanging large chunks of camera gear off someone’s prized possession.
How can I use the photos/images provided by Motography?
They are licensed for your personal use only; for prints, canvases, email or web/blog/facebook etc. You can also further edit/alter them if you wish. You cannot however use them in a commercial way or to charge money, make a profit or present them as your own. Image copyright – retained by myself Phil Clark.
Why don’t you take cash or payment on the day?
I prefer to focus purely on the car and photography on the actual day of the shoot. Visiting banks, giving change or entering into discussions around payment just detracts from the shoot.
How do I change the booking date/time?
I realise ‘life happens’ and things need to change. Please provide at least 24 hours notice – emergencies excepted of course. Note that booking slots are normally in limited supply so rescheduling may mean a delay of weeks rather than days.
Why is the deposit non-refundable?
Booking slots are limited and my schedule is carefully planned. The deposit secures the timeslot in that schedule exclusively for you. If you change your mind then generally it is difficult to find a customer to take your place.
When do I get my stuff?
Exact timings vary between packages, but typically:
- Image preview & selection – up to two weeks
- Image Download – up to two weeks
- Prints CD & Photobooks – up to three weeks
- Canvas – up to four weeks
BUYING PRINTS, CANVAS & POSTERS:
Why do you use Fine Art America?
Quite simply they offer quality products, global shipping and 100% satisfaction guarantee. You can return your purchase to them within 30 days for any reason and get a full refund on the purchase price. More info here
Do you use NZ based suppliers?
It depends. Most orders are international (outside NZ) and Fine Art America handle this. I can take local orders for New Zealand only, see below, and will use NZ based suppliers to fulfill these orders.
I’m a Kiwi so can I buy from you in New Zealand?
Yes – I can offer local printing services though they do not really compare to the overall package that Fine Art American offer. I can take orders for posters, canvas and basic prints in New Zealand.
