(Auckland, New Zealand) – I decided to pop along to one of the monthly Mid West Street Rodders club meetups. This was another local event I had never been to before. It’s staggering to see how much actually goes on around Auckland when you care to look.
There I was, expecting the ‘usual club meet suspects’ to turn up – taking more photos of cars I had seen before – yawn. It couldn’t have been further from the truth. I had only clapped my lens on about 10% of the hot rods that turned out for the coffee and breakfast run.
There were cars representing every decade from 1920s to 1970s. I didn’t spot that when I was shooting. A couple of treats took shape in the form of a 1969 Mercury Cyclone Coupe and a 1964 Mercury Comet Caliete.
> Phil’s pick of the day – 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona packing a 440 Magnum 7.2L engine!
“Awesome collection of varied metal at this meet – many cars I hadnt seen before – weather was a bit crap – coffee and breakfast were on hand though 🙂 Phil”
